Important Recital Information

Preparing for the Big Day…

• Music must be fully learned. You should be able to play through with moderate ease.

• “Mock Recitals” with friends and family are an ideal way to prepare playing before a live audience.

On the Big Day….

• Get a good nights sleep the night before.

• Don’t over practice on recital day. Practice starting your pieces and run-through some important sections.

• Dress Nicely. No sneakers or t-shirts.

• Don’t forget your music!

• Arrive at the venue early (at least 15 minutes before) to settle in and try out the piano.

• Have fun and enjoy yourself! You spent the whole semester making music, and now you get to share that with a very grateful audience.
